The Web3 Foundation has granted Dot Play a Decentralized Futures Grant to enhance Polkadot’s gaming ecosystem.
As stated on July 3, Dot Play will develop a comprehensive platform for game developers leveraging Polkadot’s advanced technology. The initiative will target high-growth gaming genres by creating essential integration tools and providing sustainable business support within the Polkadot ecosystem.
Dot Play aims to onboard new developers through a gaming portal and support initiatives such as the Indy 500 Polkadot Car sponsorship.
Additionally, Dot Play will offer technical integration by assessing Game Design Documents (GDD) to ensure blockchain solutions align seamlessly with Polkadot’s technology.
The grant will also support the development of ecosystem tools and partnerships, including SDKs for Unity and Unreal, and other key game development tools for Polkadot.
The Web3 Foundation highlighted that the grant will enable Dot Play to foster a sustainable and thriving gaming ecosystem within Polkadot. The project is expected to evolve with community feedback and adapt to the latest gaming and blockchain trends.
Dot Play plans to seek further funding and partnerships to support additional gaming projects in the future.
The Dot Play team includes experts from the blockchain and gaming industries, such as Angela Dalton, CEO and founder of Signum Growth, with 20 years of experience as a gaming analyst, investor, and board member.
Other notable members include Visible Realms CEO Eliza Jäppinen, Ajuna co-founder Nick Douzinas, and Keshav Holani, a video games and Polkadot analyst.
